Vegetables and fruit

Typical vegetables and fruits from the agricultural tradition of the Albenga Plain.
Starting with the four typical products of Albenga: thorny artichoke, trombetta zucchini, Cuore di Bue tomato and violet asparagus, to the cultivation of older species, recovered and enhanced in the Plain and on the hills.

Always fresh products

Historically, the reference markets for the Cooperativa L’Ortofrutticola of Albenga have always been the fruit and vegetable market and the potted plants and flowers market.
The domestic Italian market, especially in the Northwest of the peninsula, represents the most natural and immediate outlet for our products. There are several reasons for this, the most important being the desire to deliver always fresh products with optimal organoleptic characteristics, from zero-kilometer cultivations. These factors are increasingly appreciated by both large-scale retail (GDO) and the HO.RE.C.A. channel, which are looking for reliable partners for supplying fresh, Italian, typical and local products.
To guarantee our customers and consumers, many of our associated companies are GLOBAL G.A.P certified and organic, both in the fruit and vegetable sector and the floricultural sector.

Packaging of vegetables and fruits

Our member suppliers deliver fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables every day. To maintain the freshness chain as intact as possible, we have cold storage rooms to store the received products, process them, and package them on the same day, ready for shipment within 24 hours of receipt.
For customers who request it, we perform automatic packaging and labeling of the products in trays of any size and capacity, which can be customized with the client's packaging.
For packaging, we prefer bulk products to ensure the least environmental impact, or we use packaging in wooden or cardboard crates. For the GDO, we use CPR crates.
One of the sectors for which the Albenga Plain is known is basil and cut culinary herbs. These are packaged in bulk crates or trays, while basil is sold in pots of various diameters or in bouquets, reaching markets throughout Europe.
